Product Description

Everything you need to know about the product

The Autowatch 695CAN is a Thatcham approved CAT 2-1 upgrade alarm system engineered for modern vehicles. Compatible with full CAN Bus, semi CAN Bus, or conventional wiring systems, it can be fitted to any compatible new vehicle that requires an alarm upgrade — providing the security layer that most factory vehicles simply don't include.

Operates with Your Vehicle's Original Remote

This system is designed to be operated from your vehicle's existing remote controls — no additional key fob required. If your vehicle was supplied with only one remote control as standard, adding an optional Autowatch remote control is a more cost-effective solution than purchasing an additional manufacturer remote.

What Is CAN Bus?

CAN Bus is a data communications protocol used to control and monitor the functionality of control systems on modern vehicles. "CAN" stands for Controller Area Network. It is now widely adopted by vehicle manufacturers because it improves reliability, reduces component costs, lowers power consumption, reduces vehicle weight (contributing to better fuel economy), and enables improved vehicle diagnostics.

Why You Need an Alarm

With vehicles becoming increasingly difficult to steal outright, thieves are now targeting the accessories left inside — navigation systems, mobile phones, car kits, radar detectors, stereos, and other valuables. Many vehicle owners assume that because they can lock their car with a remote, they automatically have a functioning alarm. This is not the case.

Since 1997, an EU law has required immobilisers to be fitted as standard — but this legislation did not extend to alarm systems. As a result, more than 75% of vehicles sold do not include an alarm as standard equipment. The Autowatch 695CAN is an insurance-approved solution, and most insurance companies require a Thatcham approved alarm. Many may offer a discount on your premium when an approved system is professionally fitted.
