OUR DIFFERENCES

A deep dive into our high-performance standards.

Product Details

The Victron Phoenix Inverter 1000W (1200VA) converts 12V DC battery power into clean 230V AC, allowing you to run domestic appliances and equipment from leisure or automotive batteries. Whether you're off-grid, camping, or working remotely, this pure sinewave inverter delivers reliable, stable power suitable for sensitive electronics. The range covers models from 250VA through to 1200VA to suit a wide variety of power requirements.

VE.Direct Communication Port

The built-in VE.Direct port enables seamless communication with external devices for monitoring and full configuration. It can be connected to:

  • A computer (VE.Direct to USB interface cable required)
  • Apple and Android smartphones, tablets, MacBooks and other devices (VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle required)

Fully Configurable

The Phoenix Inverter is fully configurable to suit your specific battery and load requirements:

  • Low battery voltage alarm trip and reset levels
  • Low battery voltage cut-off and restart levels
  • Dynamic cut-off: load-dependent cut-off level
  • Output voltage: 210–245V
  • Frequency: 50 Hz or 60 Hz
  • ECO mode on/off and ECO mode sense level

Monitoring

Keep track of your system at a glance. The inverter provides real-time monitoring of input and output voltage, percentage load, and active alarms.

Proven Reliability

The full bridge plus toroidal transformer topology has a long track record of dependable performance. The inverter is short-circuit proof and fully protected against overheating — whether caused by overload or high ambient temperature — making it well suited to demanding conditions.

High Start-Up Power

Many loads require a surge of power at start-up, including power converters for LED lamps, halogen lamps, and electric tools. The Phoenix Inverter delivers the high start-up power needed to handle these demands without issue.

ECO Mode

When ECO mode is enabled, the inverter switches to standby when the connected load drops below a preset value (minimum load: 15W). In standby, the inverter briefly powers on at regular intervals — adjustable, default every 2.5 seconds — to check whether the load has increased. If the load exceeds the preset threshold, the inverter remains on, conserving battery energy when full power isn't required.

Remote On/Off

A remote on/off switch can be wired to the two-pole connector, or connected between battery positive and the left-hand contact of the connector, giving you convenient remote control of the inverter.

LED Diagnosis

Onboard LEDs provide at-a-glance status information. Refer to the manual for a full description of each LED indication.

Automatic Transfer Switch

To transfer the load to another AC source, Victron recommends the Filax Automatic Transfer Switch. The Filax features a switchover time of less than 20 milliseconds, ensuring computers and other sensitive electronics continue operating without disruption.

Easy Installation

The inverter is available with different output socket configurations to suit your setup. DC connections use screw terminals — no special tools required for installation.

What types of equipment can the Phoenix Inverter 1000W power?

It can run domestic appliances requiring 230V AC up to 1000W continuous, including LED and halogen lighting, electric tools, and sensitive electronics. Its high start-up power capability handles surge loads from converters and motors.

What do I need to connect the VE.Direct port to my smartphone or tablet?

You'll need a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle (sold separately) to connect to Apple or Android smartphones, tablets, and MacBooks. For a direct computer connection, a VE.Direct to USB interface cable is required.

What is ECO mode and when should I use it?

ECO mode puts the inverter into low-power standby when the load drops below 15W, waking briefly every 2.5 seconds (adjustable) to check if the load has returned. It's ideal when loads are connected intermittently, as it significantly reduces battery draw during idle periods.

Is the inverter protected if something goes wrong?

Yes. The Phoenix Inverter is short-circuit proof and protected against overheating caused by either overload or high ambient temperatures.

Can I transfer the inverter's load to mains power automatically?

The inverter doesn't include a built-in transfer switch, but Victron recommends pairing it with the Filax Automatic Transfer Switch, which switches between sources in under 20 milliseconds — fast enough to avoid disrupting computers and electronics.

What battery voltage does this inverter require?

This model operates on a 12V DC battery. The Victron Phoenix Inverter range is also available in 24V and 48V variants to suit different battery bank configurations.
