With Bluetooth built-in, the Victron BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor is ready for the Internet of Things (IoT) era. As Bluetooth is being implemented across most Victron Energy products, wireless communication between devices simplifies system installation and enhances overall performance.

Bluetooth Inside
Use a smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device with the Victron app to customise settings, monitor all important data on a single screen, view historical data, and update the firmware when new features become available.
Easy to Install
All electrical connections are made to the quick-connect PCB on the current shunt. The shunt connects to the monitor with a standard RJ12 telephone cable. Included in the box: an RJ12 cable (10m) and a battery cable with fuse (2m) — no other components needed. Also included are a separate front bezel for a square or round display appearance, a securing ring for rear mounting, and screws for front mounting.
Midpoint Voltage Monitoring
One bad cell or one bad battery can destroy a large, expensive battery bank. When batteries are connected in series, a timely warning can be generated by measuring the midpoint voltage. We recommend the Victron Battery Balancer (BMS012201000) to maximise service life of series-connected lead-acid batteries. Please refer to section 5.2 of the BMV manual for full details.

Very Low Current Draw from the Battery
Current consumption is just 0.7Ah per month (1mA) at 12V and 0.6Ah per month (0.8mA) at 24V. This is especially important for Li-ion batteries, which have virtually no capacity remaining after a low-voltage shutdown. After shutdown, the capacity reserve of a Li-ion battery is approximately 1Ah per 100Ah of battery capacity — a residual current of 10mA can damage a 200Ah battery if left in a discharged state for more than 8 days.
Bi-Stable Alarm Relay
A bi-stable alarm relay prevents increased current draw during an alarm condition, preserving available battery capacity while the alert is active.
