UHF CB radios are available in three main power outputs: 5-watt, 1-watt, and 0.5-watt. Five-watt radios provide the greatest range — up to 20 km in good conditions — and are well suited to long-distance travel, professional drivers, and emergency services. One-watt radios cover up to 5 km for short-range vehicle-to-vehicle or group communication. Half-watt radios are designed for close-range use within a small group, covering up to 1 km.
