The AE470x series is an adaptable UHF CB antenna system with a range of spring bases and user-interchangeable whips.

This allows you to quickly and easily switch between whips to suit the operating conditions and application.

The AE470x series includes a range of shorter length whips with lower gain for mountainous terrain or built-up areas, and longer length whips with higher gain for travelling on open roads or flat terrain.

The AE4707B is designed for the 4WD enthusiast who requires a robust but compact antenna for remote touring in Australia’s harsh outback conditions.

As with many other smart devices, XRS™ Connect products are software upgradable via the XRS™ Connect app, keeping users up-to-date with the latest features and technology.

GME is committed to releasing a minimum of one new upgrade for XRS™ Connect per year to ensure our users always have access to the latest technology available.

The XRS™ Connect 4WD Pack pairs the popular XRS-370C Compact UHF CB Radio, with the heavy duty AE4704B radome antenna, the perfect solution for those users looking for the ultimate communications setup for the rugged Australian outback.

With Bluetooth® connectivity and the XRS™ Connect app, you can create and share scan lists, manage channel profiles, and access the full AU/NZ registered analogue frequency database from your phone. The system is software-upgradable, so you can keep features current with future updates.

The AE470x series is compatible with the XRS™ Connect ecosystem. XRS™ Connect products are software-upgradable via the XRS™ Connect app, with GME committed to releasing at least one upgrade per year. Through the app, you can create and share scan lists, manage channel profiles, and access the full AU/NZ registered analogue frequency database from your phone.

UHF CB radios are widely used for vehicle, boat, and outdoor communication including camping and hiking. The three main power outputs are 5-watt, 1-watt, and 0.5-watt. Five-watt radios provide the greatest range — up to 20 km in good conditions — and are well suited to long-distance travel, professional drivers, and emergency services. One-watt radios cover up to 5 km for short-range group communication. Half-watt radios are designed for close-range use within a small group, covering up to 1 km.

How does the AE4707B differ from the AE4704B?

Both use a 2.1dBi whip at similar lengths, but the AE4707B uses a medium-duty spring base (AS002B) rather than the heavy-duty base (AS004B) used by the AE4704B. The AE4707B is optimised for compact remote touring; the AE4704B targets hardcore off-roading.

Can I upgrade to a higher-gain whip later?

Yes — the AE470x system uses interchangeable whips, so you can fit a different gain whip to the AS002B spring base as your needs change.

Does the AE4707B need a ground plane to operate?

No. The ground-independent design means it works reliably on any vehicle body type without a ground plane.
