FOCAL IMPULSE 4.320 AMPLIFIER

The Focal Impulse 4.320 is a compact 4-channel digital micro amplifier that breathes new life into your factory car audio system. The amplifier built into a standard head unit quickly reaches its limits in terms of power and dynamic range — at higher volumes it goes into saturation and spoils the listening experience. The Impulse 4.320 solves this without requiring a complicated installation. Semi Plug and Play in design, it delivers 4 x 55W RMS (or 2 x 160W RMS in bridged mode) at 4 Ohms, and perfectly complements Focal Integration speaker drivers.

Technology Derived from the FD Amplifier Platform

The technology used in the Impulse 4.320 was inspired by Focal's Performance range FD amplifiers. With efficiency exceeding 90%, Class D amplification delivers numerous advantages: less heat, lower power consumption, lower distortion at high volumes, and an exceptionally compact form factor. The result is an unbeatable size-to-power ratio, with adequate power and fast transient response for realistic, more aerated sound that completely transforms the performance of your front and rear speaker drivers.

Very Easy to Install and Integrate

Measuring only 17.65 x 4.6 x 6.7 cm (6⅞ x 1⅞ x 2⅝ inches), the Impulse 4.320 can be concealed within the dashboard or the centre console. It is equipped with both high-level inputs (with automatic signal detection) and low-level RCA inputs, making it compatible with all head units. It is supplied complete with all fastenings, a speaker output adaptor for the head unit, RCA adaptors for aftermarket head units, and a power connector. No direct connection to the vehicle's battery is required.

Optional ISO Connector — "Y" Adapter Cable

For vehicles with ISO standard wiring connectors behind the head unit, an optional "Y" adapter cable is available for Plug and Play connectivity via the head unit's harness. Simply unplug the ISO plug and connect this cable kit inline with the Impulse amp for an immediate improvement in power and sound quality. Please note: on certain vehicles, a harness adapter may be necessary.

Extremely Versatile

The Impulse 4.320 features a 2-channel or 4-channel input selector for compatibility with different head unit configurations. It operates in 4-, 3-, or 2-channel mode to meet the needs of a wide range of installations — including powering front and rear drivers, a front stage only, or front drivers alongside a compact subwoofer.

Each pair of channels features an active crossover to optimise the sonic response for the drivers used. Front channels can be set to wideband or high-pass (above 75 Hz) — filtering low frequencies from small speaker drivers improves clarity considerably. Rear channels offer wideband, high-pass, or low-pass modes, along with progressive phase adjustment, making them suitable for driving a compact subwoofer or wideband drivers of varying sizes.
